Firefly Craft Night and Pajakis
How much fun can 15 ladies pack into one room?
Two Hands Paperie hosted a free craft night to teach volunteers how to create Pajakis. Two Hands Paperie co-owner and Pajaki-maker extraordinaire Mia Semingson gave instructions and tips to the group on fabricating these intricate paper chandeliers using crepe paper for flowers, waxed linen thread, decorative paper, and paper straws. After a brief introduction, everyone split into ‘teams’ and combined their creativity to assemble four unique Pajakis. (To read more on Pajakis, check out the Art of Pajaki post or browse images from our Pinterest page.)
The Pajakis will be used as decoration for the upcoming Holiday Firefly Handmade Market on December 6, 7, and 8 and are available for purchase for $100 each, with 75% of the proceeds going to Boulder’s Open Arts. The Pajakis can be brought home with you after Firefly ends on December 8.
Not only can you shop local among all things lovely at Firefly Handmade, we’re offering a FREE gift wrap station for any purchase you make at the market. Stop by our booth any of the 3 days of Firefly and wrap your treasure with some of our lovely paper, ribbon, and a wax seal. The market is open Friday, December 6, 5-9, Saturday, December 7, 10-5, and Sunday, December 8, 11-5. We’ll see you there!
