NYC & the Stationery Show: A Magical Paper Wonderland
Mia and I have just returned from a whirlwind trip to New York City, making the annual pilgrimage to the National Stationery Show (NSS). Mia is a seasoned veteran and has attended for the last 4 years. This was my first show so I was, as you can imagine, excited to tag along and shop for new items for Two Hands Paperie. (Who am I kidding? I jumped up and down for 3 days when I was invited to come.)
The NSS, simply put, is a magical paper wonderland of stationery, invitations, and cards with over 800 exhibitors showcasing their products. I’m telling you… paper heaven.
For three and a half days Mia and I covered every square inch of the show. Row after row of booths revealed cards with beautiful illustrations, intricate letterpress designs, and decorative papers, all while the company’s creative masterminds and owners were standing right there waiting to show you around their booth and introduce you to their work. It was such a pleasure to meet the artists, hear their stories, and feel energized by their enthusiasm.
Now we’d like to introduce you to just a few of the amazing new items from the show that you can expect to see at Two Hands Paperie in the near future.
We’re thrilled to bring you Avie Designs. Their laser cut, custom printing designs caught and held our attention. Their unique product adds something special for a wedding invitation or special celebration. We hope you think they are just as impressive and elegant as we do. Two Hands Paperie will offer their designs by August.
We also discovered the two ladies at Ladyfingers Letterpress and their beautiful custom rubber stamps. Each order is hand lettered by their designer and a stamp is created especially for you. Their lettering options were incredible. Their creations are a must-have.
If you have yet to discover Palomino Blackwing Pencils, you are in for a treat. Dark and smooth and absolutely delicious to draw or write with in your favorite writing journal. You might be less inclined to let someone borrow your pencil.
Our funky find at the show was Tattly Tattoos. These temporary tattoos are designed by well known and up and coming artists. I know we’re a paper shop, but these were just too fun to pass up.
Look for these products in the shop soon, as well as much, much more. And while we are excited about the new items headed our way, we are always open and eager to hear what items you’d like to see in the shop. If you have a favorite product to recommend, we’d like to hear about it.
